Do you know what best practice initiatives are being used in your state? Are you aware of the latest evidence based practice initiatives? If you are trying to reduce re-admission rates, prevent falls, reduce pressure ulcers, or obtain educational grants, having a common place to search, look, and collaborate is important.
Evidence based practice or best practice initiatives rely on evidence to understand "what works well". After all, why reinvent the wheel if a certain practice has been proven to work in other areas? The beauty of best practice as that it is never set in stone. It can be tweaked and adjusted to work with your diverse patient population and organizational culture.
This page is dedicated to best practice initiatives in order to help organizations flourish and improve patient care and outcomes. The amazing thing that makes nursing such an amazing profession is our ability to identify a problem based on data, research solutions, trial and implement solutions, and then share and collaborate our results.
Collaboration and dissemination is key to growing the nursing profession, improving healthcare, reducing costs, improving efficiency, reduce waste, improving patient outcomes, and improving both patient and nursing satisfaction.
Sounds Pretty Good!
This unit will slowly build overtime, however it needs YOUR help! I will share all the initiatives I have worked on, researched, and practiced, however I am not aware of them all. In fact, I am sure I am aware of just a small fraction. This is where I will ask you to fill out the below form to share your initiatives so I can add them to pages in this section. I want this section to be full of initiatives to where nurses can come and find answers and direction to help their areas and their patients.
Together we can do this!
Here are some ideas to get you stimulated and help grow this section...
New York State Initiatives
Best Practice Guidelines
Pressure Ulcer Reduction
(Help add content Here!)
Please share the best practice initiatives you are most proud of as a nurse! I want to hear what problem you identified and what evidence based practice you implemented to solve it! Feel free to share results, research, or just the basics. Your help is needed to grow a central hub for nurses to go to help continue improving their own areas around the country.
